English as a Second Language for Intermediate
Intermediate English as a Second Language focuses on the vocabulary and structures necessary to dealing with the workplace and conversational demands of life in Canada.
Intermediate English students practice reading, writing, speaking and listening as they become more functional and able to interact with the people around them.
There are four intermediate levels – CLB 5-8.
As students progress between the four intermediate levels they learn the language skills necessary to:
* express themselves
* deal with problems
* discuss issues
* report information
Most of the English as a Second Language Courses can be completed within 40 to 60 hours.
Students can take up to 6 hours of classes per week. Classes may be 1 or 2 hours.
Classes can be scheduled at any time between 10am and 9pm Monday to Friday.
Intermediate English for Workers
English as a Second Language for Intermediate learners is also available with an industry-specific safety and vocabulary focus.
Our courses for intermediate English are eligible for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.
