Intermediate English: Improve Your English

“…when I arrived in Red Deer I did not speak any English.  I improved my English a lot and now I can understand…”

 English as a Second Language for Intermediate

English as a Second Language for Intermediate focuses on the vocabulary and structures necessary to dealing with the workplace and conversational demands of life in Canada.

Participants practice reading, writing, speaking and listening as they become more functional and able to interact with the people around them.

There are four intermediate levels – CLB 5-8.

As students progress between the four intermediate levels they learn the language skills necessary to:

* express themselves
* deal with problems
* discuss issues
* report information

 Course Length

Most of the English as a Second Language Courses can be completed within 40 to 60 hours. One-on-one classes tend to move faster than group classes.

Group courses are usually twice a week for two hours.

One-on-one students can take up to 6 hours of classes per week. Classes may be 1 or 2 hours.

Classes can be scheduled at any time between 10am and 9pm Monday to Friday.
