“…when I arrived in Red Deer I did not speak any English. I improved my English a lot and now I can understand…”
English as a Second Language for Advanced
English as a Second Language for Advanced learners focuses on the language skills necessary for studying at colleges and universities and for assuming leadership positions in the workplace.
Participants learn the language skills that enable clear, efficient and polite communication.
There are four advanced levels – CLB 9, 10, 11, and 12.
As students progress between the four advanced levels they often move on to:
* leadership positions
* language proficiency tests
* university studies
* professional recognition
* college courses
One-on-one classes tend to move faster than group classes, and most courses can often be completed within 30-40 hours.
Classes are usually twice a week for two hours, but students can take up to 6 hours of classes per week. Classes may be 1 or 2 hours.
Classes can be scheduled at any time between 10am and 9pm Monday to Friday.
Classes can be completed online or in our classroom.
We usually allow about 60 hours of classroom time for group courses.
Group courses take place in our classroom on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm – 8 pm.
Classes have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 students.
