People living in large cities have to face many problems in everyday life. What are those problems?
Should the government encourage people to move to regional towns?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Generally, more people prefer living in large urban areas. Some say that living in large cities face many problems on a daily basis, this essay will discuss what the problems are and why government should encourage people to move outside the city.

Most people choose to live in Metropolitan areas because of convenience, nevertheless, people encounter many problems while living in area. One of the major drawback is the high cost of living, rents, utilities, commodities and even taxes are higher compared to rural areas. As an example the approximate cost of living in Tokyo is at least $1800 monthly, while outside the city is only around $1000. Another problem living in the city is that it is overpopulated, the stress of daily traffic, over crowded trains and subways take a toll on a persons physical and mental health, Studies show that most of people living in metropolitan areas are more stressed and unhealthy compared to those who are in the provinces. A compelling illustration of this is Manila, to travel to work, a person would need at least 2 hours of lead time, this would mean 2 hours of less sleep daily, and a total of 10 hours weekly of time spent just for transit. Given these points is living in the city worth all the trouble?

The concentration of people in metropolitan areas not necessarily beneficial to society and economy, instead it limits the possibilities for growth. For this reason I believe that the government should encourage people and even businesses to move outside the city, not only would it serve as a economic boost but it would also provide an opportunity for development.

In conclusion, even though it is convenient to live in large cities, there are a lot of drawbacks to consider.
